Technical Account Manager

We are recruiting for a technical expert to manage accounts within the hazardous waste sector. 

We are looking for technical and commercial specialist, who is to maintain and develop a professional business relationship with each customer within their designated area, with a clear focus on contract retention, growth and customer satisfaction.

You will own the relationship end to end with the customer. Maintain customer strategy and be responsible for the generation and growth of revenue and gross margin

Key Areas

  • Producing and maintaining individual Account Management plans for each client within the defined portfolio

  • To develop a pipeline to manage and measure business growth, business development and contracts at risk

  • Managing customer contract expectations and service level agreements/key performance indicators

  • Support other members of the commercial team on large TWM bids with a hazardous aspect

  • Regularly review pipeline progress, evaluate and review strategy and approach

  • Visit customer sites to comprehensively  list waste and obtain as much information as possible to pass to the technical team prior to any collection

  • Sample waste streams as and when required

  • Ensuring customer’s contractual requirements are implemented and being aware of significant market or trading impacts on the customer

  • Manage customer renewals and account development in accordance with internal governance and approval processes


  • Chemistry Degree or Significant experience in hazardous waste technical sales

  • GCSE English and Maths or equivalent skills to enable you to perform the role

  • Full Driving License

  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office
