A Local Authority is seeking an experienced Interim Director of Waste & Environment to provide strategic leadership and operational stability during a period of change.

 

The Role

• Lead Waste, Environmental Services, Street Scene, and Recycling.

• Drive service improvement, modernisation, and savings.

• Oversee contracts, commissioning, and compliance.

• Provide clear leadership to operational teams and Members.

 

You Will Bring

• Senior leadership experience in waste/environmental services.

• A track record of delivering transformation and efficiencies.

• Strong contract management and stakeholder skills.

• Confidence operating in a political environment.

• Working pattern: Hybrid with on‑site presence
